Math Olympian Prize Winners Visit RWTH Aachen

 

About 30 math olympian prize winners will be visiting the RWTH Department of Mathematics on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

After a welcome by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Krieg, there will be two short mathematical presentations and study information from 11am to 12 noon.

The Department of Mathematics congratulates all award winners and is looking forward to the visit.

" The so-called Mathematics Olympics are an annual nationwide competition, in which over 250000 school students participate. The Mathematics Olympics offer interested school students the possibility to prove their abilities in math. The competition, which is for students in third grade and above and is broken down by age groups, requires logical thinking, the ability to put things together, and creative approaches to mathematical methods. Participation in the competition encourage interest and work with mathematics beyond the classroom."
