“Freigeist” fellowship for Dr. Christina Busing

 

The program of Volkswagen Foundation is aimed at excellent young scientists and young researchers who want to realize pioneering and original research ideas at German universities and research institutions.

Dr. Christina Busing was one of the successful candidates of the second tender process. Her project proposal "Robust planning in medical care for a stable health care system" convinced an international panel of experts.

The project is targeting with the help of mathematical methods at organizational process improvements in two key problem areas of the health care system: health care in rural areas and the efficient management of hospitals and similar work-sharing facilities. The research project will be based at the Department of Mathematics II.
