DAGStat medals awarded to Professor Bock and Professor Wilrich


The Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Statistik (DAGStat) is a consortium of scientific societies and professional associations that regard the further development of statistical theory and methodology as their primary scope of duties. On the occasion of the fourth Joint Statistical Meeting DAGStat 2016 with 700 participants, which took place in Göttingen from March 14th until March 18th, DAGStat medals have been awarded to Professor Bock and Professor Wilrich for their outstanding merits in Statistics within Germany.
Professor Bock served the Institute of Statistics (ISW) from 1978 to 2005 and was honored for the development of the German Classification Society.
Professor Wilrich, who served the FU Berlin from 1962 to 1976 after having been with the ISW, strongly influenced statistical quality control.
