For Teacher Training Students in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics has initiated an individual mentoring program in order to personally advise and support the students in the teaching profession beyond the subject-related supervision.
The target group is in particular students in their first year of study.
Participation in the program is voluntary for you, but we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
All conversations are strictly confidential and subject to a duty of confidentiality. Particular attention is paid to the separation between the professional level (professors, assistants, study advisors and tutors) and the personal level (mentoring) in order to provide you with the best possible support in all areas.
The teacher training mentoring supports and advises you on the following topics:
- Orientation or guidance,
- Self management, e.g. establishing and structuring priorities,
- Decision making,
- Work methods for more efficient learning,
- Tips for presenting in seminars,
- Ways to develop management skills for educators,
- Self reflection to better recognize and assess your own abilities
Our mentoring program distinguishes itself from others, in that it is supplementary to course material and is tailored to the needs of future teachers.
