A Nitsche`s method for the Navier slip boundary condition and its application in two-phase flows with moving contact lines
Liang Zhang (IGPM, RWTH Aachen)
Abstract:We introduce a Nitsche's method to include the Navier slip boundary condition in the Stokes problem in which the no-penetration condition is weakly imposed. The well-posedness of the variational formulation and the stability will be briefly discussed. Based on this one phase method, we will derive a similar method for the two phase
ow problems with moving contact lines. The dynamic moving contact lines are modeled by the so called the general-
ized Navier boundary condition (GNBC). We will show how we include this GNBC condition in combination with the Laplace-Beltrami discretization for the surface tension force. Numerical experiments will validate the numerical
predictions and illustrate the properties of the Navier slip boundary condition and moving contact lines.
