University Adventure Playground - What is that?
University Adventure Playground is a holiday recreation service for the children of RWTH Aachen and Uniklinik RWTH Aachen members and students. The RWTH Aachen Family Services Center initiated this service to give employed and student parents the possibility to have their children compentently supervised during the Easter, summer, and fall breaks.
Program
The program is designed with children ages six to eleven in mind, and it is targeted towards sports enthusiasts and adventurous children who want to experience something special during the break. Each week has a different topic: The children will be researching, playing, crafting, discovering and doing sports. Some of the topics are related to RWTH Aachen University and its institutions and faculties.
It is also possible to form integrative groups including children with disabilities. Please contact the Family Services Center for more details. Please note, however, that we cannot supervise children who cannot climb stairs or are in need of nursing support, as our facilities and restrooms are not fully accessible for the disabled.
We will send you the final details about the week that you booked two weeks before the program starts.
Daily Schedule
Children and their supervisors go on exciting discovery and experience tours in the Meuse-Rhine region ("Euregio") and within our university during the supervised period.
You can drop off your child between 7:30 and 8:30am at the agreed meeting point. The program ends at 4pm. If you need to pick up your child at an earlier time on a specific day, please let us know in advance.
An adventure playground day starts with a collective self-made breakfast. Excursions and games start afterwards. At lunch there is either a warm meal prepared by the participants, a meal at one of the Student Services canteens or cafeterias, or a self-packed lunch for on the road.
