Prof. Dr. Semih Cayci Mathematics of Machine Learning

We are pleased to welcome Semih Cayci as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics of Machine Learning at the Department of Mathematics!

Professor Cayci is an expert in theoretical and algorithmic foundations of reinforcement learning and learning theory. He completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio State University before being awarded an NSF TRIPODS Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the Illinois Institute for Data Science and Dynamical Systems and the Optimization & Decision Intelligence Group at ETH Zürich.

Prof. Cayci is offering a special topics lecture on

"Mathematical Foundations of Reinforcement Learning"

this semester and looks forward to building an active group at our university.
