dr. rer. mat. night

During the last two years, most of us were forced to work from home. While many online conferences gave the possibility to connect with young researchers in our own respective area of math from all around the world, many of us probably lost track on what is going on at the other math departments here in Aachen.
That’s why we are organizing the “dr. rer. mat. night”, an event where all PhD students and PostDocs in math can get together, and most importantly get to know each other and each other’s research. Our goal is to reinforce the connection between the math PhD students and PostDocs in Aachen.
When: 18th January, 2023
Where: Hörsaal II, Main building
What: 18:00 – Lightning Talks
20:00 – Social event
We will start with a session of Lightning talks, where you can give a quick and catchy 3-minute introduction into your research. Here is a great example of such a talk. Since this is a lot of fun (we already experienced this at a summer school, where we got our inspiration from) and it gets even better if more people contribute, we encourage you to take part as a speaker! Afterwards, we will move to the SkyLounge to enjoy the rest of the evening with drinks, snacks, nice conversations and a beautiful view over the roofs of Aachen.
